Full Moon Party

Baby Sara going to be a month old on the Merdeka Day (let's shout Merdeka!! Merdeka!! Merdeka!! for patriotism. For Malaysian only..hahahahhahaha) Well due to the celebration of Malaysia's national day, the public holiday so coincidently fall on Friday, we have no choice to push forward the celebration and throw a Full Moon Party on last saturday 25 August 2007 because we expect most of the people will go somewhere else during the long weekend either balik kampung or holidays.

The Full Moon Party is merely a Chinese's culture to recognise when the Baby is fulled 1 month old and he or she is independent on his or her own. (Btw, there is saying about the objective of full moon party is to wash away the "raw" smell from the baby... i don't know which is which... anyone who know further about the story... pls do not hesitate to put some comment right here.)

Well, who attended the party??? I think relatives and my mom's friends consist about 70% of the crowd... A lot of unfamiliar uncles and aunties turned up which i don't recognised who is who... anyway I would like to thank them for all the blessing..

Besides, we on behalf of Baby Sara have to thank many of you who attended the party as Baby Sara received alot of Ang Pow, Presents and Blessing from all our friends. Thanks Alot!!!

P/S: The party photo will be up soon (I recalled I didn't take a lot of photos as busy entertaining you all lar...)

Long Night again

It has been a long night again... the departure of nanny on Monday, certainly left alot of blues for my family. Finally, I realised that when additional helping hand really help us alot from cooking, washing, feeding or even sleeping... (kinda of miss her... help lar!!!!) Apart from taking care on the normal routine, we (me, pauline and my mom) take rotation like football strategy to take care of baby Sara. It has been a long night for the person taking the night shift. (pauline didn't sleep at all!! amazed!!! and I have to thank her so much because she is the person that need a lot of rest during her confinement month instead of jaga Baby for the whole night... i feel sorry...)

The time table of taking care of Baby Sara distributed into 3 shift, My Mom in the Morning (8 hours), Pauline in the Afternoon (8 hours) and Me in the Night (8 hours)... this is how we define our time, you take as much rest as possible when you are not occupy so that when your shift comes you are as enegetic as the baby... (at last i really feel i'm aging, cannot tahan anymore...)

Today marked the 3rd night of taking care of Baby Sara, writing blog and surf the internet is the only way to kill time.. In order to make myself awake the whole night, research on shares and football is the only entertainment i have.... kinda of weird like i can't even nap if she sleeps beside me...

Baby Sara wakes up every 2 hours in the night... why? the only answer either starving or shit... so my role is simple at night make milk or clean shit... But, sometimes I also experienced that she is not hungry and shit but just cry the whole night... this really out of my control and i have no choice to wake pauline or my mom up to give me a helping hand... sometimes really dont know what the baby wants.

That's all for now... have to make milk again..(adapting fatherhood..)

Important rules to prepare for baby's arrival

After several days of fatherhood lifestyle, I really overlook some important rules that I should have know, learn and prepare before the baby's arrival. For friends or readers come across this blog, you really need to take a look of my summary here:-

1. Take Prenatal Classes
Prenatal classes help you know what to expect during pregnancy, labor and delivery and after your baby arrives. I really ignore this kind of classes offered by doctors' clinics, hospital and etc before the baby's arrival. I just don't feel comfortable and I think I'm very prepared to take care of a baby at that point of time. In fact, what I think was totally FALSE and as a new father there are too much for me to pick up in a short period. Therefore, I think a father should attend the prenatal classes together with the mother therefore, more understanding and assistance could be deliver whenever there are problem arise from the baby.

2. Banking cord blood stem cells
Subsequent to the delivery, I was attended by one of this private company in Malaysia known as StemLife. The Malaysia first cord blood and stem cell bank located at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur. Well, Cord Blood also known as "placental blood". The better definition is the blood that remains in the umbilical cord and placenta following birth and after the cord is cut. Banking cord blood have proven in the pass that success in alot of transplants for children and adults. The service of StemLife is simple, Reserve the cord blood for you. So in future, stem cell can be treated inthe following diseases like Acute Leukemias, Stem cell disorders, histiocytic disorders, Liposomal storage diseases and many more. Both parents should understand this before this fly away. (p/s. every baby is unique, so don't miss it)

3. Get Ready for Breastfeeding
If you've chosen to breastfeed your baby, you must not miss this. An electronic breast pump is essential and save a lot of hussle for a mother. Whenever the mother has access of milk, she can pump it out and reserve in the fridge for another session of feeding to the baby.

So far this is the end of Lesson 1 of important rules to prepare for baby's arrival.

Baby's Progress

Baby Sara marked a historical 15 days old and as a new parents Me and Pauline wish and hope she grows up steadily and healthy. Some recent screenshot while she is in action or hibernating... muahahahahahahhahahhaa

Well during the pass 15 days not only the baby is growing up however, like me and pauline also starting to adapt life with additional responsibilities and stay alert whenever she needs us. This isn't easy task as taking care of baby required a lot of patient and patient.... I also trying to adapt it but Pauline seems to be adapting it very fast and comfortable... (unbelievable right!!! hahahahahahahahah)This is really a good start, anyway!!!

I've learnt alot during Pauline's confinement month, she no longer free to company me to shop for baby's stuff (mmmhhhh...i should have correct my statement, i think i company her more than she company me during shopping all the while...sigh). So, whenever I go out to shop for baby's stuff, (because of so forgetful) i always carried a check list to make sure i buy everything and didn't miss out a single item before i step in to the hosue.

Back to Baby Sara's photoshooting....

She really looks cute while ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz!!!

Baby Sara is looking for more... more... more... MILK!!!

What she wants? I guess she need a shower kua.... hahahahhahaahhha

Baby Sara finally finished shower by grandma and nanny... smell so nice!!!

Baby Sara again... she really likes to be wrap like a present, why ar?? i think she feels more secured like still in the mother's stomach...

Minor shock

Finally, the FFK (fong fei kei) nanny arrived on Sunday... I've no choice to say that the arrival of her really makes our life much easier. Of course lar additional helping hand... as a newly parenthood, me and pauline are tired and sleepless for the pass few days and luckily my mom helps us to take turns to take care of the baby...

Minor shock on baby, she got jaundice after 5 days discharged from the hospital. Poor little baby... pauline is so worried and doesn't feel comfortable to leave baby in the hospital for 3 days 2 nights, to undergo special sunlight in the special unit room.

What is jaundice? well i don't want to explain further here if you want to know more about it please go wikipedia it!!!

so classic man!!! baby girl is undergo the special sunlight in the intensive unit

Is baby again.. she is doing very well and the neonology blood test has reduced significantly from 12 to 9. For new born baby neonology blood test must be less than 8 and doctor adviced us to leave the baby for 1 more day to do the relevant check up. Pauline once again missed her so much and she even cries at night because of didn't see her (probably this is called motherhood)

Whenever pauline feel to breastfeed at home but suddenly recalled baby still in the hospital.. worried and curiousity cross over her mind whether the nurse feed her or not.

Our baby seems know how to recogn us by smell after staying in the hospital for the pass 2 days... whenever we visit her she starts to move actively and cry for milk... very smart isn't she!!!

This is me when I feeding our baby... she feels calm and drink slowly (normally when feeding time she sucks very fast)

Changing hand.. Pauline turns to feed her and she nearly finished the bottle of milk.

After 3 days in the hospital, our baby finally resume normal and we are heading back home sweet home again... and Pauline is the happiest one as she hugs her all the way and never let go...

We are Home

After a night in the hospital, gyne allows Pauline and Baby discharge from hospital anytime today. (pauline already complaining the poor food and how boring the hospital was.... u all know lar how pauline nag...muahahahahahhahahhah)

I'm glad that we are heading home as I've hardly sleep for the whole night... A 30 min drive from Damansara Specialist Hospital to Bukit Hijau (seems glamor right bukit hijau actually in cheras lar...hahahhahhaahah), we are Home.

Unfortunately, we've been FFK (fong fei kei) by the nanny we hired as she promised to turn up when the baby is out from hospital. She had postponed to come on Sunday. We were really upset at that point but no choice, we cannot take thing personal and we are parents now and have to take all responsibilities for baby...

Alot of first time for me, as Pauline still weak and ZZZZZZzzzzzz from hospital to house. Myself still without sufficient rest and sleep... Taking full responsibility as a father I've take care the baby for 2 days and Pauline helps on the daily breastfeed and milk feed... As a new father-hood, I learned pretty much without guidance on how to make milk, change pampers, wipe her small butt and etc...(actually there are still alot of things)

In fact, I think without nanny I also can take care of my baby girl already... (why should I pay her muahahahahahah!!!) The 3rd days after discharged, I suddenly feel mentally and pyschically exhausted because of stay up midnight to do all the feeding, cleaning and changing..... the worst part of me... I felt to loss my temporary memory... OMG is really that serious...i can't recall today is what date or even time and I need nothing but sleeeeeeppp...

so to you who read my blog if you need any advisory from me you can call or sms me, i'll reveal to you step by step how to expect when your wife is expecting!!! muahahahahahahaha....

Baby girl is back to Home...

She looks cute while sleeping, doesn't she??!!

My mom her grandmother, let her expose to some sunlight to avoid jaundice...

After the sun-bath she sleeps again... how i wish to be her... drink, sleep, drink, sleep the only routine of the day

The True Alarm

Today, Pauline ring me up at 3pm+++, complaining she has some stomachache and feel like leaving the office early and call it a day... well, without much hesitation I leave all my things behind and drive all the way from Lot 10 to Damansara Perdana (pauline's office) reaching her office at 4pm... (we have been car poll for the pass 2 weeks, knowing that the due date for delivery is drawing closer and closer)

Not much of guessing whether it is a true alarm or a false alarm, we reached the hospital at 4pm+++, unfortunately our regular gyne is on day off every wednesday. Pauline and I quickily proceed directly to the Maternity Floor to double check whether any signal of delivery. (pauline's face is pale and aching)

After been checked for 30 min... the doctor in charged in the Maternity Floor confirmed that the baby is giving signal to deliver on today 1 August 2007. (what a relieve, finally we know that the baby is coming out unlike previously we were worried when baby is coming) We've waited another 30 min when our regular gyne reached the hospital accompanied with midwife to do checking on pauline again (that was 6pm)... The only thing I saw was seeing the gyne using a 1 feet long "ruler" (trying to burst the water bag)... and screamed from Pauline. That's it the gyne said. We will wait for another 7 hours and prepare for delivery. OMG... that time was only 6pm add another 7 hours that will be 1am in the morning baby will deliver and come to the new world... Both me and pauline are excited about the news but another 7 hours is pretty long..

Pauline has no choice to transfer to the labour room to prepare for delivery...

I then go to One Utama to buy some bread, magazine and drinks for both of us as we are preparing to stay a wake the whole night until delivery time. By the time, when I reached the hospital again Pauline was in total pain... she had injected the pain killer and it seems doesn't work for her and she keep on complaining about aching.. At last, she make up her mind to put epidural to relieve the pain... (poor pauline, hopefully when baby grow up she know that how hard to get her out from the stomach..)

About 10:30pm, the nurse come in for the hourly check up for pauline and asked us to get ready as baby is coming out soon... my heart beat suddenly increases and excited about the arrival of our baby prior to this I just feel calm and easy about the delivery. At 11pm the process of delivery kick off, 2 nurses, gyne and me stand in our position in the labour room supporting Pauline to get the rythem and we shouted "PUSH"... "PUSH"... "PUSH" all the way....

Finally, before midnight baby girl has poop out from pauline on the 1st August 2007. Everything seems so unreal and I don't know how to explain the feeling when I first saw our baby coming out from Pauline... (that time Pauline was in total exhausted condition). But, it is really really an amazing feeling...

Pauline was then transfer to her room after delivery... and the nurse carried away the baby for shower

The meal after delivery.... funny huh... Pauline didn't ate them coz she is still sleeping.. ZZZZzzzzzzzz

Our Baby after shower... prepare for breastfeed by the mother

After the feeding, the baby stay up with us the whole night.. this photo was taken 3am...
